Hi, You know me from my Gator Bites e-newsletter. I have founded a non-profit so I'd like to introduce you to Libraries For Kids.
We take libraries for granted. For many, internet searches make libraries obsolete. What if you couldn’t search the internet? Where would you go to do research, learn more about a topic, or find recreational reading material? This is the situation in many parts of rural Kenya and East Africa. If you want to receive Gator Bites only, click on the "Not Interested" button.
Last year while visiting a Maasai school in Amboseli Kenya, Africa, I was impressed by this tribe’s emphasis on the importance of education for their children. When the teacher was asked if they had a library, she replied “No, but we’d love to have a library.” Thinking, “Surely I can get books donated and shipped to the school,” Libraries For Kids, Int’l was born.
Our philosophy is “Focus on the Objective, Not the Obstacle,” and we have overcome many obstacles. We have successfully shipped books to Kenya, Tanzania, and the Amboseli school, learned to minimize shipping costs, and sent money to the Amboseli school to help them buy new textbooks that fit their curricula. There is much more to do and many more schools to help.
Please Donate: Your monetary support is needed to help this school and many others in East Africa and beyond. Please visit our website, https://libraries4kids.org/, and donate today or mail a check payable to “Libraries For Kids” to our Treasurer, Chris Hervochon. Libraries For Kids is an IRS tax- exempt 501 (c) (3) organization, so donations of books and money are tax-deductible.
Mission: The mission of Libraries For Kids is to supply books and school supplies to schools in rural areas of underdeveloped countries to establish libraries and assist those schools in broadening educational opportunities for their students.
Vision: Libraries For Kids envisions helping rural schools in developing countries around the world.

Other Opportunities to Assist Libraries For Kids
Speaking: We are looking for opportunities to present the Libraries For Kids Int’l story, such as civic clubs, churches, Chambers of Commerce, etc.
Storage: We need a place in Bluffton SC, to store and pack books for shipment. Many people have offered to donate books but we have no place to put them.
Social Media Volunteer: Need a volunteer to help establish a social media presence for Libraries For Kids.
